Important Transportation Updates for 2013-2014
New Phone Number for Parents
All parents should call the new centralized phone number: 919-805-3030. Prior transportation main office numbers and district office numbers are no longer operational.
New Online Customer Support Form
The best way for parents to reach the transportation department is through the new online form – http://www.wcpss.net/bus-support. Please use this form as your first step when you have questions or concerns.
Routes are now posted!
Go to http://www.wcpss.net/routes to review bus routes.
Updated Transportation Website
The transportation website (http://www.wcpss.net/transportation) has been updated, and is an excellent source of information for parents. It includes bus routes, bus updates, FAQs, and transportation policy and guidelines.
Parent Brochure
Every traditional calendar school parent should receive a brochure in the mail. You can view the brochure here: http://j.mp/bus-brochure. Remember, we are not sending home stop information. Instead, we are requesting that parents check online to locate their stop. If parents do not have access to a computer, they are directed to call their school. School staff can use http://www.wcpss.net/routes to help parents locate their stop.
Stop Request Forms Now Online
The new online stop request form is now live. Paper TSR forms will no longer be accepted.
Bus Status Report
Last year, transportation provided bus status report on the Intranet. Now, this update lives on the website. To locate the bus status report (Live Bus Updates), go to http://www.wcpss.net/transportation, click on Contact Us, and select a school.
Please be patient as routes settle during the first few weeks of school. Bus routes may be extended by as much as 30 minutes as students become familiar with a new routine. Parents should contact transportation only if they have waited more than 30 minutes or if school has started and their bus has not arrived.
Thank you for your support of the Wake County Public School System.
